Questions about downloading MT4 indicators

Are these MT4 indicators really free?

Yes. Every indicator on this site is open-source software released under the Apache-2.0 licence, which permits free use and redistribution. We package each one with its original licence file and a notice crediting the author. You pay nothing; we ask only for an email so we can send you the indicator you choose.

Will these indicators work on MT5 as well as MT4?

Most of them ship with both an MT4 (.mq4) and an MT5 (.mq5) version in the same download, because the original authors maintained both. Each indicator's page lists exactly which platforms its files support under ‘Platform’.

How do I install an MT4 indicator from a ZIP file?

Unzip the download, copy the .mq4 file into your MetaTrader 4 MQL4/Indicators folder (File → Open Data Folder), refresh the Navigator panel, then drag the indicator onto a chart. Every indicator page includes a numbered walkthrough.

Do any of these indicators repaint?

Some do and some don't, and we tell you which on every page. Indicators that only update on closed bars (such as Supertrend or Donchian Channels) do not repaint; tools like ZigZag redraw their most recent leg by design. The ‘Repaints?’ line in each indicator's fact box gives you a straight answer.

Why only 20 indicators when other sites list hundreds?

Because we verified the licence on every file and refused to publish renamed or decompiled clones. We researched 75 license-clear candidates and published the 20 most useful; the rest are catalogued and will be added over time. Quality and legal cleanliness beat a padded count.
